Our Board of Directors
SWB's Board of Directors sets the strategic goals that direct the organisation's projects and operations. Please contact us if you have skills and experience that would assist our work, and if you would be interested in joining our Board.
Dr Paul Anderson – Director: Paul is a consultant Surgeon currently domiciled in Adelaide, South Australia. His undergraduate medical education was at the University of Cape Town/Groote Schuur hospital. Paul completed his internship in his home country of New Zealand before being admitted to the Australasian surgical training programme. During this period he was accredited as a fellow with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, and then shortly afterwards admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Ms Megan Coupland - Company Secretary: Megan joined the Board as Company Secretary in March 2009. Currently working as a Consultant in the community services sector in Adelaide, Megan has a Masters in International Studies from the University of Leeds, UK. Raised in South Africa, Megan worked extensively in the community grant-making field in the UK prior to emigrating to Australia in 2008.
Professor Jegan Krishnan - Director: Jegan commenced at Flinders Medical Centre as the Lecturer in Orthopaedic
Surgery in 1993 following a two-year period overseas as a visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon. He progressed to being Senior Clinical Director of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1995 and was appointed as an Associate Professor in 1995 and
appointed to the inaugural Chair in Orthopaedic Surgery, Flinders University in May 2001. Jegan has had major involvement in orthopaedic education and training, and he has established several Orthopaedic Fellowship Training Exchanges with developing nations in the Asia Pacific region.
Mr Craig Need - Director: Craig is a third generation Chartered Accountant who is a Director of Need & Need, Adelaide. His client base encompasses a large variety of small and medium business. He specialises in business structure, tax efficient planning, safe wealth creation, superannuation, property development and taxation implications.
Mr Trevor Walker - Director: Trevor lives in Nelson, New Zealand and is an Area Manager for government housing for Nelson and Marlborough. Trevor has been a Trustee for numerous non-government organisations and is currently a Trustee on the Annesbrook Community Trust and the Fifeshire Foundation. Trevor is a co-founder of the Hospitals of Hope Africa Project with Dr Paul Anderson, since his first visit to Rwanda in July 2006.
