Our Vision

Our vision is to reduce the negative impact of poverty, poor healthcare and inadequate service delivery, especially as it relates to paediatric and maternity care.

Specialists Without Borders:

  1. Believes in community partnership and participation to identify local health needs which will shape and determine project objectives,
  2. Will pursue sustainable community development initiatives in all aspects of the teaching of medicine and allied health,
  3. Aims to identify and improve local social determinants of health through specialist teaching programmes.
  4. Will promote education, skills training and innovation to impact poverty alleviation,
  5. Will promote education and information sharing as a means to improve health literacy,
  6. Believes in building capacity and capability of the local medical community,
  7. Will promote initiatives that improve gender equality and health outcomes for women in medicine,.
  8. Will explore methods of improving specialist education in childhood nutrition and preventable diseases (childhood morbidity and mortality,
  9. Values environmental sustainability and enhancing natural resource management,
  10. Will pursue education and training of the local health workers.
